I often notice a scent coming off my succulents when I have a mealy bug problem. It's kind of a sickly sweet smell, and it is often how I realize mealies are present. Lately I am smelling it around one window but can't find any mealies. I did find a single thrip, and treated all the plants on that window for it. The smell persists... I have always associated it with mealies ( the most common pest I encounter) but perhaps it is a scent that succulents produce in response to any pests?
Does anyone else know the smell I mean? I have been told I have a very sensitive nose....
