| I think it was only two weeks ago I cut this back, and already new growth. 'Tis the season for Jades, I guess.

| How did you cut the stem so close to the leaves without damaging the leaves? |
RE: Jade in a Jiffy
| | |
| When you cut a jade stem close to the leaves the small piece that is left on the plant will die and fall off leaving a nice clean stem. |

| Hey Chris! What the heck kind of jade is that? I just may be asking you for a cutting if that one does not exist in my collection..lol Great job and wonderful! Mike |

| Hey Mike, check your email! Yes, Ron is right, if you cut close to the stem, the plant does the rest of the work for you! Gotta love Jades! Christopher |

| Christopher, Can you please post what kind of jade that is? I am curious to know the variety as well. Thank you. |

| Looks like a regular jade to me and the photo has been up-sized and makes it pixelated. |

| It is a compact leaf jade with burgundy undersides, don't know if I would go so far as to call it a 'regular' Jade. I think the sun and the close-up give it the different look. Christopher |

| All my jades have the same colors depending on the amount of sun light they get. |
RE: Jade in a Jiffy

| I don't find that to be true with mine, depends on the variety. Christopher |

It is a different variety than the standard Jade. The leaf-size, leaf-shape, and the burgundy color marks it as distinct. My sister has a few of these particular Jades. What I'm curious about is the leaf-texture. Is that dust on the leaves, or fine hairs, or just the low quality resolution of the pic?

| Hi Josh: Honestly I think it is a combination of lighting, dust on the leaves and the fact it was taken with my cell phone. No fine hairs on this one. Christopher |

| Copy! Thanks for the clarification! Christopher, do you find this Jade has a tendency to droop when it gets taller/longer?

| Josh, to answer your question, I would probably say yes, though my plants are not all that old, so it may be a while before that became more evident. Christopher |
