From what I understand certain varieties of Thanksgiving Cactus have pointed tips and others have rounded ones. When I was trying to have one of mine identified, the grower asked if it had pointed or rounded buds.

Hey those are totally different! I don't see any of the rounder buds on my plants. I'm not sure how I feel about that. If they would both be the same color flowers, why do I think I would still need both? Just to be amused during the 12-15 daily bud checks? Man, I would be too. Daggone it, should have stayed off this.

I think Greybird has two different varieties (two different colors) in one pot; the light, salmon-pink, pointed one and the dark, fushia-pink, rounded one. I would love to see them when they bloom. The shape of the bud might make them easier to identify.

Val-- I saw that too. And your comment made me think more about how it could be pretty to combine two complementary colors in one pot-- like maybe grow a white so that it comes out light pink and put it in with a light purple.
