If it gets worse, cut it out completely, the last cut with sterilized surfaces, and pack with sulphur powder / cinnamon. Keep the wound dry and it should be right as rain.

I am not sure if it is fungus or what, but it is not good. If it is soft at all, excise the black part immediately. Black and soft is not a good thing. and if it spreads it might kill the plant. Follow the advice given above.

Thanks Y'all! If it does spread should I only cut out the black spots or completely remove the roots?

I've never bumped anything before, but it is a little soft this morning, so I am going to cut it out. I've never done anything like this to a cactus before because cacti have always been fairly easy for me to deal with! Lol. I have preformed "surgeries" on plenty echeverias though. But I'm not sure if I should just chop it all off and root it or if I should just cut the black out. What do y'all think is the best option?

Cut out the rot completely until all you have is healthy tissue - then pack the wound with your powder of choice.
