How long will San Pedro cuttings live for?

I have (10) 6 inch San Pedro (Trichocereus Pachanoi) cuttings. Since I live in NYC it is approaching winter time. I am not entirely sure how to grow start San Pedro in the winter because I won't be getting a lot of sun. My question is:

How long will San Pedro cuttings live for if I do not pot them and just store them?

If you have any knowledge on how to start San Pedro in the winter that would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Zach

Like most cacti they can live for several years without roots or soil when kept at room temp or even better at ~50-60F.
If you keep them upright the cuttings might root under this condition till spring already.
But to be honest I hate giving this info to somebody who is interest especially in growing San Pedro!

Jordi you are wise. But there are other plants out there that can do the same. Norma

Jordi, I don't understand your last comment. Should cuttings not be stored? Or are you implying that San Pedro a "bad" plant? Sorry I missed the boat entirely.
