| First time that my ariocarpus furfuraceus is blooming. Exciting since it has barely grown since I bought it 4 years ago. Just curious how I would fertilize the flower to get seeds. Should I rely on insects doing the pollination or should I do it myself? Do I need male and female? How do I know if there are seeds? I often open the little dead flower buds or fruit weeks after they are shriveled up, but rarely see much that resembles seeds.
Please fill me in on this. Would be fun to try to collect my own seeds and grow new plants from them. |

| The flower has both male and female parts but Ariocarpus does need a mate to produce seed. Beautiful plant! |
