?? About String of Pearls

Hi,
I have a cutting of String of Pearls. I've had it since mid summer.

The instructions I was given was to lay it on top of moist soil and it would root.

Well, it hasn't! It's been forever! It's still very green and healthy, even has about an inch or so of new growth!!

Am I doing it right or does the end piece need to be burried or any part for that matter.?

Was it dormant in the summer? I don't know it's real name to look up it's growing season.

Thanks,
JoJo

JoJo don't be impatient. They are slow, that is why they are expensive for the size. I started out with one pearl, it will grow. You may want to spray with with a mild liquid fertilizer, this is their growing season, so hang in there, you are doing just fine. I thought you said you were a beginner? If so you are doing better than most. You have it growing, don't change a thing. Norma

Hi Norma,
Thank you.
Yes, I am a beginner. :)
It just seems so weird to think it will root just sitting there. LOL!

I was surprised to see new growth with no roots yet.

I have fish emulsion. I will give it a spritz of that. Very mild! LOL! It's in the house. :)

I use that for everything around here.

No, pls. don't give it fish emulsion, that's the wrong fertilizer for succulents; it's too much nitrogen, which is NOT want succulents want.

Don't worry abt fertilizer right now (jumping the gun a bit). Just be glad for the fact you've got new growth -- that't the best sign possible!

I believe (but am not positive) these are called Senecio rowleayans.
