It's one of the few soft-leaved Agaves which also needs protection from the full sun - those qualities almost disqualify it from being an Agave and yet...

my agave was creeping and taking too much of indoor space so I literally took it out and planted it vertically (as much as I could)..lets see how it does..

I'd chop that trunk up into small sections and reroot them in the spring - you'd be able to reroot the crown, too, and make it a prettier plant, IMO.
