During winter I mist mine when it's needed ranges in time from a week to two weeks ( It can go with out any misting alot longer than two weeks) they are more difficult to re-establish so I mist on occasion usually some it's growing stems will flatten when it needs a little drink I keep it warmer nothing less than 60.

Repotting:The mix ( soil) sounds like it should pour right out into your palm would suggest useing a drip pan for it turn the pot on it's side and slowly spin it a couple times let the looser soil fall into the drip pan while griping the plant with a kelly clamp type tool untill everything is in the drip pan.

If it wants to be stuborn "stuck' in the pot wait for a watering day and hevily water the innner and outer edges of older pot tip it on it's side while spinning it to let the mix pour out more easily. Idealy the roots should hold on to some of the old mix kind of like a root ball, insert the moist rootball & old mix into a prepared cavity you made in the new pot fill in the cavity voids with sized pumice or perlite.
Depending on your season and where it is inside I would wait to water the repot for the famed is it dead or dormant look after repotting
