1. It appears as though you have several plants in one pot.

2. You could, with some difficulty, divide things up. This would be your choice. I would leave things as they are.

4. Age is relative. Size, width/height, don't always relate to age, but growing conditions. In your case, the plant would look much better with a "healthy pruning". It is somewhat etiolated and could be cut back (where indicated) in the spring or its primary growing season in your location. Also, be careful watering in a ceramic pot. It would appear it has a drainage hole since it is in a saucer.

Just as a follow-up, the multi-stem plant on the left was grown from cuttings started for my daughter maybe 6 or 7 years ago. She decided not to keep it because she had to move and it was getting too large for her to manage, so I took it back. I have pruned it 2 or 3 times over the years to give it a nice round canopy appearance. The plant on the right is single stem also started from a cutting maybe 10 years ago. What you do with your plant is your artistic call. And, no, I don't grow these outside in the winter... it's just for their photo op.

The other thing that should be mentioned is don't be afraid to whack it big time. It WILL grow back and fill in nicely.
