Just got back from my yearly trip to visit family in the USVI, and snapped a few pictures while I was there. Here are some selections of the cacti and succulents for you to enjoy. Hopefully the image codes work, I'm an html noob.

USVI????? The obvious is escaping me.

RE: Here, have some succulents

United States Virgin Islands. St. Croix to be precise.

okay...what are the viney ones in the 3rd and 4th pictures...I HAVE TO HAVE THEM

RE: Here, have some succulents

The third plant is an episcia and it is not a succlent. It is a gesneriad and should be grown much like streptocarpus and African violets. I wick water mine.

Epicsia like high humidity and will not do well without it. We supplement heat with a woodstove and I have to run a humidifier to keep mine happy. Many people grow them in large brandy snifters or goldfish bowls.

PS: Murd: Thank you so much for sharing the photos. I really enjoyed them. And, the first, sixth and 11th are especially beautifully taken.

The episcia was an odd one out, but I liked it so much I decided to share anyway.

As for the fourth picture, I'm not actually sure what it's called. We grew it from a chunk of something picked up across island a while back.

Glad you enjoyed them Linda, I enjoyed taking them.
