The only way to keep the growth tight and compact is to provide *way* more light. It can be very challenging as far north as you are. To really keep it compact during the winter, you may need to provide artificial lighting.

Your best bet is to behead and re-root in spring, but keep the plant in much better light so it doesn't get so leggy again.

Yet all the leaves look healthy. Give it as much light as possible; certainly a challenge in the UK! If you do behead it and reroot, you can leave the beheaded stem, which will sprout multiple new rosettes if you are lucky--and if there is enough light...

I have a rather large pot with Echeveria but not nearly as colorful as yours but as they grow and now blooming over the sides of the pot they are really beautiful. I enjoy having large amounts of a certain plant rather than just one bloom. Don't destroy the top portion which might also bloom but take the bottom leaves dipped in a drip of Rootone and place them back in the pot to bloom out than you can shape your pot later with all your new plants.
