| Hello everyone!
Alright, to straight to the point... I went to Walmart today and ended up picking up a little cactus from the garden section. (I'm still trying to figure out how to get the fake flower off of the top without poking myself full of holes...) I would really like to know what type it is... the tags weren't very specific at all. YES, I know it's a cactus. How very enlightening! Thank you Walmart! So if anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it very much! |

| Thank you! That's a start. I'll try narrowing it down via Google search now. |

| My guess would be Ferocactus emoryi or possibly Ferocactus rectispinus. I think the flower is probably fake and glued on. Regards, |

| Based on the pictures I've seen, it looks to be the former (emoryi). Thanks a lot for the help! And yeah, I had to perform some "flower surgery" to get the fake flower off. I couldn't get all the glue though, and there are still remnants of fake flower on there, but I think it'll be fine. |

| One website actually lists it as Ferocactus emoryi ssp. rectispinus But do you really think that's what it is? I only question because the flesh color on yours is very dark and the spines are very red. The spines look the same though. |
