I found this to kind of a slow grower...at least for me. It could be because it got root rot, I cut it off and rerooted it which took some time, and now it is about the same size as yours. Mine A. fleurentiniorum gets a little more sun, even though I keep it protected as it is outdoors year around, but it is starting to turn a nice purplish-red. Thanks for sharing.

Isn't that pot kind of large for it? I can't imagine the rootball is anywhere near that size.

Maybe it's growing slowly to fill in all pot space w/ roots; if it were mine, I'd pot it down somewhat smaller.

Pirate Girl, valid concern. This is one of my first aloes and I have wondered about that in the past. How does one learn from mistakes? By making them. I just repotted this in the same pot two weeks ago and it has a very good root system. I may have sacrificed some growth up top, but down below it's solid. This one was seed grown, it's 5-6 years old.
