I am hardly an Aloe identifier. Aloes are a group that I am weak in identification, however something about your plant suggests Aloe grandidentata. I have s small pup with that name.

Oh lordy, that's going to be a toughy. That whole family of spotted aloes looks SO much alike, and there has been so much cross-breeding. Even in the same species, the leaves can vary dramatically depending on light, watering, time of year etc. I have a few species that completely changed color and leaf size when I put them in the ground - and changed again when things grew around them and put them in the shade.

A bloom would make it easier, but here are some of the more common spotted aloes as possibilities:

A. fosteri
A. grandidentata
A. greatheadii
A. greenii
A. maculata (formerly called a. saponaria)
A. parvibracteata
A. pruinosa

Or, as you suggested, one of any number of hybrids.

Here's a picture of mine carrying the A. grandidentata tag. It's been in the shade since it moved inside in October; before that it had a nice maroonish tinge.

Do you all think they could be the same plant?
