OH NO! He's Done it Again.

Please forgive me, but I must share the latest endeavor mixing bonsai with one of my favorite succulents, Crassula.

This plant was very close to the "Chop up to start newer, nicer plants " phase when a closer inspection revealed a stunning revelation. Hidden from deep inside the poor posture of this specimen the term "AIOI" suddenly leaped into my caffeine inspired feeble mind:-).

AIOI is a Japanese word for a double trunk or twin tree growing from the same or close position.

Another cup of coffee, a sharp knife, and a few pounds of wire resulted in this :-). The largest plant is about 24" tall with a 2" diameter trunk.

The potential to make a spectacular specimen with this is very high. I moved it from a 1 gallon to a 3 gallon pot to help bulk it up over the summer.

Plans are to make a 3-4 foot tall container beauty out of it. If results are better than expected it will end up in a bonsai pot later on.
