Jabba is blooming!!!

Jabba, An ancient Astrophytum asterias in my collection, has begun its 2006 season of blooming. Probably the most photographed plant in my collection; itÂs a favorite of visitors who ask to see it. Jabba has even received Christmas cards.

Cacti, like film stars, donÂt always continue to improve in appearance with age. Some think Jabba has dignity. Others differ. Yes, this one is also a member of the Â30 Year Club.

Al, has Jabba Been dieting recently? He looks a little thinner around the waist than last time I saw him.

I do adore his Easter bonnet though. : )

Many thanks for the nice words, you all.

Rose, I'm sure Jabba appreciates the notice of a slimmer build. All that might change with his April 1 H20 cocktail.

    Tough question to answer, Dawn.

In habitat he might have perished many moons ago.
