Every flower is significant no matter how small. I just got one of these last Fall and had not ID'd it yet. Came in with some mealies and got a bath. I learned something about those "flying mealies" when watching "This Old House". They profiled a Hemlock that was infested with something that looked like a mealy bug but is had a different name and these travel initially by wing to their new food source. I had seen what looked like "flying mealies", little pieces of winged cotton, last Summer off my balcony and wondered how these things seem to get around. Cacti that had never had a single bug in 12 years suddenly came down with these "Mealies" late Fall and noticed over Winter. So, I guess I can say that there are bugs that can fly that look like Mealy Bugs but are not Mealy Bugs and they like cactus. They die just the same with some Ortho systemic. After a couple rounds. They seem to be attracted to the sterile reptile bark I used in the bottom of the pots for drainage. Lucky me. -CJ
