Trichocerus identification please

I was given a seedling 5 years ago and told that it was a seedling of Trichcerus macrogonus. It is finally starting to grow well here in my Phoenix garden. It has not yet flowered but in only 10" tall, solidary with no branching (yet). Unlike the other Trichocerus species I have it is much "squater" in growth, slow growing and thick. As it gets bigger is does not resemble other pictures that I have seen of this speciies. Any suggestions or ideas?

Doesn't look like a trich to me at all. The areoles and spines don't match up. Looks more like a stenocereus from the small pic. Can you post a larger image?
