Big Guy, Little Flowers

i really love the opuntia that came with our house. it has big ol' spineless pads and, at last, flowers! if only the neighbors would water their ocotillo fence, the backdrop of ocotillo flowers would be more stunning... (as it is, i sprinkle it a couple times a month). our opuntia is so big, we use it to hide our trash and recycling cans.

That is one stunning plant! Old specimen too, and very healthy. I love it too.

I absolutely love seeing those opuntias all over Tucson! Opuntia ficus-indica is one of my favorite prickly pears. You'll have some good eating once the fruits ripen.
