I think this is the species and not one of the hybrids of this. It's loaded with buds though.

WOW!!! is that currently blooming Anya? Nice one. Looks like a hybid from Mile's to go?

This was last years photo, but yes it has put out a few blooms already this week, with many more to come. I picked it up at Lowes, of all places a couple of years ago.

I think I just bought the same hybrid from Lowe's C.L. hybrid "Rose Quartz" I bought it in bud so I would not have to wait...;) It opened beautifully.

IS this a cold hardy cacti in the zone 5 area? very pretty!

No I don't believe so. But I think almost anything is worth trying in the right conditions. But I would not risk the main plant trying this.
