Today's blooms

I have absolutely no luck growing my cacti in full sun in the Sacramento area. It doesn't matter if they're in containers or in the ground; they get shriveled, sunburned or just plain begin looking ugly.

Here are a few that were blooming today that are grown in dappled shade...

Turbinicarpus lophophoroides

Gymnocalycium baldianum

Pink has always been my favorite color flower but the red is really pretty also. i'm just starting to get into cactus and have none so far but will have some one day and can post pics then.

how long does it take for a cactus of this kind to grow big enough to bloom ? estimation, i know it will depend on light, soil, water ...ect...but roughly about how long ?
