Epiphyllum ID? (pic)

Is this just some kind of generic Red Epiphyllum? I picked this up as a small plant for $2 at a nursery going out of business several years ago. Could this be a species? The developing buds look like Christmas light bulbs. Once blooms open, they last about 2 days. It's in full bloom right now and may open up a few blooms sporadically throughout the summer.

Nice flowering Epi,
It looks like Epicactus 'Ackermannii', a hybrid and it is a prolific bloomier.

Is it also called an orchid cactus? A local nursery has tons of them and thats how they are labeled

Hi,
Orchid cactus is indeed a common name for this plant. It is an epiphyllum hybrid, but I don't think this is the hybrid ackermannii as the stems are totally different. Perhaps this is Nopalxochia ackermannii? It does look a lot like it but even then one cannot be sure with these plants...
