The tall one looks like Opuntia monocantha. It likes morning sun and bright light. It can take some strong sun but not all day. I have no experience with growing this inside.

Here's my Cereus, called "Fairy Castle"

because that's exactly what they look like when they revert. I also have some 10' single stalks. Of course, these are inground and outdoors. I had a potted "Fairy Castle" on a windowsill for many years and the tallest it grew was about 3 feet. Sorry about all the shadowing...That's first morning light.

Care tips: Both very easy to care for & propagate (pups can be separated and rooted in their own pots during active growth period). Well draining soil, lots of direct sunlight (outdoors for spring/summer, if possible), water monthly, feed every other month during active growth period: March, May, July, Sept (withhold water & feedings during dormancy: Nov - Feb). You can water more frequently in hotter climates. I feed my potted cacti a light dose of tomato food every watering...It works for me.

Forgot to mention that cacti like to be fairly rootbound. The cactus should fill the pot without choking off at the sides. This is when you know it's time to repot...about every two years.
