Succulent ID?

Hi, I'd be so grateful if someone would be able to ID this succulent for me. It was given to me by a neighbor who was moving. The plant was originally in a large pot which got broken in the moving process. She kindly gave it to me and I've had it in the ground for about a week now. I have no idea what type of succulent it is...Sempervivium? Also, can anyone tell me why the rosettes are not open, they look like small cabbages and the outer leaves appear to be a little burned from the sun. An ID and any care suggestions would be most appreciated. TIA.

RE: Succulent ID?

It is an Aeonium, but of which species I am not sure.

The rosettes are closed because it is stressed. In the summer, or after a transplant, they will fold up to protect themselves from the sun and to reduce the amount of water they transpire. AS cooler weather returns, and you start to water it, they should open up again.
