Aloe ID

Another ID request from me! This one was outside a store which had a beautiful succulent garden by the entrance. I asked one of the employees if they knew what kind of succlent it was and he said it was a "red toothed Aloe" - I took this same photo to several reputable nurseries in my area and nobody could give me a positive ID other than along the "red toothed Aloe" line... also, the nursery employees I showed it too seemed quite excited about it as they'd never seen one before! I'm now on a mad, crazy hunt to find one. Thank you in advance.

That plant is actually of the genus Dyckia, which is quite unrelated to Aloes. There are a number of species that all have that bronze/brown sort of color.

Hello,
I am new here, just joined..:) This plant is a part of the Bromiliad (sp?) family.. I just started to collect Dykia's.

Try doing a search online for Terrestial Bromiliads. Yes, sounds funny... but some are in that family.

Ebay has tons of them.
