Is this a Noto?

Got this plant recently, labelled as Notocactus scopa v rubrispinus. Now it has flowered, I really don't know what it is. The flower colours would suggest a Noto, but I can't think of any Noto where the flowers come from the side of the plant, rather than the apex. The plant is in a 3" pot, making the flowers about 1.5" - 2" across.

Any ideas??

Looks like a noto to me too. I suppose there can be exceptions to most things. Notos generally bloom from the apex but maybe this one decided to be different.

Probably it fits better than Parodia scopa, and the flowers are near the apex

Those flowers are Notocactus (maybe Parodia) all the way to the bank. Its just trying to fool you ;)
