Dwarf Euphorbia 1

You like dwarf Euphorbias?

Well, here is the first one I would like to introduce: Euphorbia fascicaulis S. Carter from NE Somalia.

From a tuberous root the plant builds almost cylindrical shoots up to 20 cm which usually remain smaller if the plant is grown "hard" in full sun. Basally and partly underground branching, with the age the numerous shoots build a dense bunch of up to 30 cm in diameter. Bloom takes place several times a year on young growth. Besides the usual 3 cyathia of each cyme frequently 1 or 2 extra cyathia are produced.

Cuttings root easy, re-build a tuber and after short show a typical look. Nonetheless the plant is a moderate if not slow grower.

E. fasciaulis is recommended to all who have little space but can provide bright light and warmth.
