I would love to have the Latin name of this plant so I can see how best to root this cutting.

Well, it's not a cactus. Some cacti have leaves, but not with that shape.

I love this plant! Mine died in Ike but when we stopped at Cactus King after the Mercer swap I got a new one! It seems to prefen a little protection from the mid-day sun for me.
