Things are hotting up here in New Zealand - supposed to be 26 degrees C. here today and 28 tomorrow!!

How about Notocactus rutilans?

The pots in the first picture are nice. Is that a sideline of your's?

Ah yes it probably is rutilans...I love the deep purply velvet stamen!
SnB, the pots I have are all bought at cheap stores!!! As for the black ones, they are all going to go...it is too hard to maintain a good watering schedule through winter with these pots as they are glazed inside...the square one that the monstrose is in is not glazed inside or on bottom, these are great pots for those that I do not water lots. Ones that have a higher schedule are in terracotta or plastic.
You should see that Helianthocereus bud now!! It's gonna be red or deep orange, and it may happen tonight, along with Echinopsis 'stars and stripes'!!! Yay!!
