Close up of Christmas Cactus Bloom

This is my wife's Christmas Cactus. She died 11 Oct. 2005. I don't know the first thing about caring for her plant, and would like to start new plants off of it for each of her 3 sisters and for her mother before something happens to it. I used this picture of it for my Christmas cards this year. I appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

If your cacti were unhealthy it wouldn't show blooms. Propagation should work well. Cuttings can be taken. Then the clones can be placed in soil.

Sorry for your loss and I commend what you're going to do with the plant. If you have propagating experience this will be pretty easy. I'll link you to an article here on GW from an FAQ that details how to make cuttings.

Beautiful picture, I'm sorry for your loss & applaud your efforts to keep the plant going, especially to share it w/ the family.

It happens that mine (setting buds right now) looks EXACTLY like yours, same bloom & color, etc. Mine usually blooms for New Years, seems a bit late this year.
