Your very first is my "one that got away".
A sweet, generous guy in southern CA gave me a few beautiful cuttings of this plant, and I watched helplessly as they withered up without rooting.
The same nice gent then sent me a beautiful rooted plant of same. It stayed with me for a couple years...until a year ago last fall. I gave it, and a few other special plants (an Aloe from Nebraska and a Stapelia from PA) a nice cool spot in a big south-facing window. Sadly, I didn't know the ins and outs of the house well enough yet. The furnace man wasn't done, and it got about 20 degrees colder than I thought it would. Just too darned cold.
If I believed in the fates, I'd be quite sure they were telling me R. crassa is not meant for me! I love the picture, though....
