I can't help with an ID, sorry, but it looks like it might have scale or some kind of scarring on it.

That's one reason I tentatively thought it may be an Iso. Mine got a few of the same identicle "scale looking" blemishes on it this summer. I scraped at a couple of them, and they were not scale. I finally attributed the marks to too much water. Maybe someone can ID it for us.. Here'smy Iso for comparison:

I definitely put the best face forward for the photo. It's beat up on the other side, scars, a gash - you get the idea. It is in the ground in my community garden plot. Told it I was giving it a second chance after someone else gave up on it. I let it know if it behaved and stayed healthy, it might grow big one day and flower.

Don't think it's scale, but it's been scarred a bit. Bill may be right with ID, but I'm not totally convinced, ...it's a bit hard to tell. Maybe with a bit of good healthy growth under it's belt it'll be easier to ID.
