Happy New Year to you all! In between my long winter naps, I've emerged from my cocoon to want to express this to you:) I hope 2008 is a kinder year with temps, our gardens are bountiful and flowers and roses bloom beautifully.

That all of us and our family members stay healthy and safe above all else.

Amen! And Happy New Year to you, too, Leslie! I sure hope those new migraine meds work out for you. You'll be in my thoughts. :)

I hope you're feeling better soon, too, Westelle! I'm having a bout with diverticulitis right now, so between the antibiotics and tummy issues...and my stupid knee...well, geez, aren't we a wonderful crowd right now! LOL

Bring on the good health for 2008!!

Ack! The wind is really cranking here, but I fear it's not even close to the speed it'll be later today. I hope everyone is safe and sound today!!!

Ohhh, how I hate the wind.

I hope you're feeling better too Westelle by now.

Brenda, I've got mostly high wind here, not a whole lot of rain, just a trace in the rain gauge so far. The ponding basin for the subdivison is behind our house. Waiting to see how well it works if we ever get this 3-5" the weather folks say. Last good rain we got it filled up the street on both sides to the middle.

Took the grandkids to PetCo today, we picked out 5 Neon Tetras and 2 Dwarf African Frogs for the aquarium DH surprised me with for X-mas. Lucky, the 2 year old Beta will join them tomorrow if he can behave himself or he goes back in his 2 gal tank. Grandgirl named him:) She wants to name the frogs and the Tetras, I laughed at her and told her if she could keep them straight, knock herself out, LOL* Next week I'll add a few more fish that will get along with these. I've always liked Angel Fish but I remember 20 years ago they liked to pick on all the others. I bought the frogs 2 castles to hide in, a large one run with air for the draw bridge and a small one. They're supposed to sing, I'll believe it when I hear them:)

I'm sorry you're not feeling well right now either Brenda, getting older is no fun. I like the saying where the two friends are together and one says, 'you go first':)

DH passed out over his dinner plate Christmas Eve, now maybe my dad will believe he's having problems and that's why we don't leave home very often. I hate driving further than Stockton in traffic and it's hard to know when DH is going to get dizzy driving and might pass out. Kind of scary actually.

My 4' wind chimes are really blowing, I can hear them in the house over the tv. There is one set in front and one on the back porch. Both are ringing like crazy. I think I'll go find two rubber bands, my neighbor's bedroom is on that side of the house.

Take care you guys and stay warm and safe!

Yah.... I'd say having the driver pass-out at the wheel would be a tad bit scary. Does his Doc know this? If so I'm surprised he's allowed to drive at all.... actually I think there's a State Law that pretty much disqualifies him from driving.

I don't like to drive at night anymore because the headlights and tail lights from other cars get this huge halo... because of my wonky right eye; I can do it, but it isn't comfortable.

Isn't getting old a @itch! I keep forgetting that I'm not 39 anymore.... I had to give up that idea when my oldest turned 39. EGADS! She's actually 41.

I've had the nasty flu/virus/whatever that lots of folks around here have. Which has now turned into the usual sinus infection. I look forward to feeling better soon with the antibiotics.

Westelle, this is why he had to retire early and he's got an appt with my neurologist. He couldn't find any of his specialists to take it seriously or pinpoint what does it. Whatever causes it has not showed up in any of the tests they've run on him. All the ABC tests and they did that one that they check the heart & neck arteries. All were fine. He has dizzy spells but this is the first time he's passed out since we moved to this house 1-1/2 years ago. One of us has to be able to drive so we take care, we don't leave town often and on 'bad' days we don't even leave the house. This is another reason why we moved to town, to be closer to doctors. We can't afford for it to be reported because none of the countless doctors he's seen have any idea what it is, they put down dizziness. He's even been hooked up to a heart monitor for a week reading his signs 24/7 for the cardiologist, nothing, though I remember him having dizzy spells during that week. We even kept record of his blood pressure 3 times a day for a month for that dr. If it can't be diagnosed and fixed he can't get to see all his other specialists up and down the state. In the mean time we have to live with it, along with all the other old injuries he has that he needs surgeries for.

I'm sorry you've got that flu/virus, DH has it and so does the son here in town. DH has now given me the cold part of it, I'm hoping it doesn't mutate into anything more. I've survived 3 bad colds recently from grandgirl by taking Airborne every time she's been here freshly ill. Then DH gives one to me. Before Airborne grandgirl would get me sick every time she comes down with something and she's well in a week and a month later I'm needing antibiotics:) I hope you feel better soon though, it takes awhile for the antibiotics to kick in and do their thing.

I like the saying 'Getting Old Is Not For Sissies':) I also like the one that says, 'You Go First'. DH is 10 years older than I am:)

Did you ever get your loom set up? If so do you have anything made? I can't find the thread where you were talking about what you wanted to do. But, I was curious if you ever got it all set up and got anything made for I think you said your sideboard first? Maybe when you're better if you haven't yet, that will cure your ho hums left over from the holidays and not feeling well:)

I have yet to get any crocheting done, but I also just put all the cement and things away just before Christmas and have been trying to feel better after the new med the doc put me on. I've been reading a lot but not doing anything creative right now. Feel kind of guilty about being so lazy, but this last year was a very busy year.

We only got an inch of rain here BTW, not much of a storm but it was windy!

Hey Brenda, I hope you're feeling a lot better by now also. This is rotten weather to not feel well in, makes it worse. But I've also have the opinion the dark skies make it easier to stay in bed and not feel as guilty about...
