My wife hadn't been keeping track because her cycles have been very irregular since their return after the twins' birth. She recently noticed it had been a while and picked up a pregnancy test from the store on a whim.

I couldn't figure out why she wanted to pick wine up from Albertsons instead of Trader Joe's. After I dropped her off I parked the van and left the oldest in charge so I could have a say in what she picked out (she picks reasonably well for someone who doesn't drink wine but I can never sure) and I caught her with the test in hand. She wanted to be discreet because I have an unfortunate habit of blabbing before she's ready for everyone to know (she likes to wait until after 8 or even 10 weeks to ensure that we don't have to announce a miscarriage later).

Thankfully I have imaginary friends.
