Roses, flowers & Other things

While I've been waiting for the roses to recover from the aphids, other things have been blooming. This is out my dining room window. As hot as it is by evening the spiderwort is through blooming. My mini daylilies, orange and yellow ones are blooming and mums.

I've went back to my cement, I've been making pot feet and plant stakes. Then I started making pot faces:) These were just a day out of the mold and still drying. This is my first attempt at the latter. I've also been making cement markers for the roses.

Here is my rugosa that I'm growing as a climber that wasn't affected much by the aphids.

Just thought I'd share what I've been up to. Mon we're off to Modesto and then going to Tahoe for our #24 anniversary. I hope it's cooler up there:)

Oooo, I LOVE those little froggie pot feet! So adorable! And the pot faces are something new to me and VERY cool!

All of those colors in your front bed are gorgeous, Leslie. How do you get your mums to bloom now? Mine always wait until fall...:(

Thanks Pat and Brenda:) I'm still doing stepping stones, this is a side trip into faces.

My mums always bloom now and all the way through to I don't know Sept? I have the pumpkin and creme colored ones blooming also. I didn't know they weren't supposed to. They've always done this. Maybe because of the heat? Oh, you're saying it's a fall thing. The toads sure like thing to hide under and in, I see them shaking all the time while they're in there catching bugs.
This little guy isn't as big as the marble. It's easier showing this one than the one I have on the ground. They are even tinier than last years. Waves of them and they all scatter in different directions, impossible to try not to step on them, LOL* That's ok, they're eatting a lot of bugs and flies out there.

Maybe the mums bloom because I have them in full sun?

Cute little frog!! I love having them around here, too, although I don't have the huge numbers like you do! I also have a male bullfrog out at the pond. Hubby named him Jeremiah. LOL He hasn't made the usual bullfrog sound yet, so not sure what's up with that.

My mums are in full sun, too. Mom's don't bloom until autumn, either. You have wonderfully impatient mums!! LOL

Oh, almost forgot to mention that my hollyhocks are blooming! They thumb their noses at this heat we're having. How are yours doing? I think a gopher got the ones in a shadier part of my yard, but I have plenty of seed left when I want to try again. As long as it stays viable. :D
