Anyone in Lancaster,Palmdale,Quartz hill area

Hello

I just relocated here from Clovis(Fresno area) and I really want to know if there are garden give and takes. I need some help with growing in the high desert. I was a great gardener until I moved here. I didt think there would be much difference because the cold and heat is almost the some. Hope there are people out there?
