Little memorial spot

We removed the grass and I created this as a little memorial spot for our dog, Jackson. He liked to lay down and snooze in this area because he was banned from the large rose garden after he broke off canes from several roses by laying down on them in the spring. He loved being where I was when I was gardening, if he couldn't be in the garden he was right outside it watching me.

I planted a mini rose called Hanky Panky that will be about 2' tall and wide and is a orange and yellow blend. DH added his touch to the area, you ought to know he's a retired sheriff:)

Leslie, that is a beautiful little spot for a wonderful companion! Jackson would love it! Your DH's touch is very cute, too. LOL

I can't wait to see the rose in full bloom next year!

Thank you, I think it came out very nice. I have plenty of room to move the stepping stone over as the rose grows. It's kind of odd this was his place and it worked to do this memorial here so easily. For some reason the daylilies in this spot never came up either that I planted all along the front of this bed. We were going to do that cement continuous border between the garden and lawn but haven't had the money all summer or I wouldn't have been able to extend the garden here. Funny how things work out.
