Gorgeous Cams, Pat! My 'Ave Maria' blooms didn't look so good this year. I had more than ever, but I think the dreaded petal blight got them. :(

Last summer while I was on vacation, my DD & SIL with a couple of their workers came over to water for me, but they also did me this big favor of cleaning up and pruning. Well, they used my electric hedge cutter and zapped thru the Camellia bushs. They look nice, all trimmed, symetrical, etc., BUT old growth and new growth got cut off too. The 2 red camellias that I got over 200 blooms in one cutting last year, have produced just 3 pathetic blooms this season. I know they all meant well and I really appreciate their efforts, but I sure wish they wouldn't mess with my plantings. Oh well, and thank goodness, they'll all recover and I'll start over again.

Yikes! I admire your positive attitude, though! I'd be steaming mad, which is never a good thing. :)

I still have some buds on mine, as well as 2 that are in full bloom. They look MUCH better than the ones that bloomed earlier, so maybe it was the freezing temps that got them.
