Help identify beautiful plant/flower.

Sorry no photo. I live in San Bruno and this tall, gorgeous plant seems to grow everywhere. The flowers look like crocosmia but larger and usually in shades of pink and white, but I have seen a coralish-rose too. About 31/2-41/2 ft. tall, tall glad-like foliage. Seems to naturalize very well here. I also see them in S.F. Sunset District and Daly City. I think they may grow in part shade because I often see then near Cineraria. Thanks for any insight.
