Carex, Dianella and Festuca edging a pathway...
The Carex testacea on the other side of the path...
Pulling back a little...
Putting it in the context of the pathway...
Grassy plants look nice in pots, too, here's some Carex, Cordyline, Phormium, Festuca, Dasylirion...
Here's that gorgeous Cordyline 'Festival Grass' all by itself
Love this Carex when it waves gently in a breeze...
Carex, Festuca, Craspedia globosa, Hakonechloa macra:

Yes, indeed! Beautiful! What are the orange looking flowers along the path? Roses? I'm hung up on peachy / orange colors this year. ; - ) Love all the pots, too. Thanks so much for sharing! Diana

When they are potted like that, do they require much in the way of water? I want potted plants, but I seem to overwater!!! Ruth

Beautiful! That fourth picture is really a nice view, everything looks so lush but also very balanced.

I love your pictures! I too am making a winding path in my backyard and had a plan for plantings along the way. I hope you don't mind if I steal some of your ideas! By the way, Cordyline, I thought that was a tree. Maybe yours is a different variety? I thought your "Cordyline" was flax. Please let me know! I'm just a curious novice! Thanks. . . . Kat

And here I thought Cordyline was related to the Hawaiian Ti Plant... Perhaps I have more to learn. The Phormium tenax. Where did you find the color varieties that you are showing, if I might ask? Not specific nurseries, but asking to see if HD is carrying this, or what. And these would be the same plants other folks are calling New Zealand flax, right? I very much appreciate you showing off your ideas. I have been afraid to incorporate grass into my landscape. I am starting with ordinary, boring, hedge and rose plantings in awkward beds. The neighbor has already squawked about the stupid bushes I Sawzall-ed out of the ground. I still have two more stumps to dig out...

Soooooo pretty Westelle. Love those grasses... I don't grow enough of them. We do have a Carex on the back side (north side) of the house and I love it. I should grow more of them. Jen
