Finding someone who will come home to prune our grape vines

We have 5 grape vines in our backyard...which we have been pruning every year with the help of our regular gardener. I would like to get someone more specialized in grape vines prune our trees this time around

Would any of you be able to recommend someone? We live in Mountain View, CA

Call these vineyards and ask if their pruning labor hires out:

Picchetti Winery, Cupertino - (408) 741-1310

Ridge Vineyards, Cupertino - (408) 867-3233

J Lohr Vineyards & Wines, San Jose - (408) 288-5057

If you can't find anyone, there's a really good set of diagrams on how to do it in the Sunset Western Garden Book.

You could also check whether you have any local landscape designers who specialize in edible landscapes - they would know how to train/prune them correctly.

Also, local nurserymen often have design and landscape people on their team. You might call one of them; particularly if they sell grapes and have been established for a long time in your area.

I live in Mountain View, and I was just pruning a commercial vineyard in Woodside this past weekend.

If the vines have been trained well, pruning is pretty easy. (Sunset's Western Gardens does a good job of showing it.)

Anyway, I wouldn't mind stopping by. Shoot me an email. If it's straight-forward, it shouldn't take very long.
