Euphorbia question

My first experience with euphorbia, planted last spring. Label is gone so I'm not sure which one as there are several in the Sunset book. This one has slim, silvery leaves, about 3' high, same width. The tips of each stem have tiny newish looking growth but that growth points down, not up. I'm wondering why.

I haven't watered it much this winter.

Tough to be of help without more to go on, Socks. Euphorbia has a huge variety of cultivars. Perhaps you could post a photo?

There are some 5,000 species of Euphorbia!

Better late than never, right? What was "wrong" with the bush is that it was getting ready to bloom. Really brightens up the darker corner of the yard. What is the actual name of this bush?

What should be done when the bush finishes blooming?
