I went to Nuccio's nursery in Altadena this afternoon and bought 2 camellia sasanquas. They know just about all there is to know about camellias, their name is world famous, and they are the nicest people to deal with. This afternoon I walked around with one of the owners for more than half an hour while he showed me various cultivars, explaining their growth habits, flowers, etc. Now that they are in bloom they have an area where they cut off blooms and mount them so you can see and compare. If you like camellias and you are in southern CA you owe it to yourself to go there, even if you don't buy. It's like visiting a botanical garden and getting a one on one visit with the experts.
