I love Stupice and Brandywine! Those are the only ones from last summer I am planting, all the others are new.

Just to make sure that that particular list isn't misinterpreted, that is a list of tomatoes that do well in Santa Clara County. Not California as a whole.

Gardeners in other counties would do well to look for a list of tomatoes recommended by their specific county cooperative extension office and Master Gardeners.

It's a good list, I am in Santa Clara County, in San Jose. I am referring it to my neighbors growing tomatoes from seed this year.

We've tried different varieties but keep coming back to the same ones: Sweet 100 cherry tomatoes (which we make into amazing tomato sauce, skins and all) and Cherokee Purple. I'm sure there are other yummy varieties but these have done consistently well for us. One year we also had a volunteer which produced golden heart-shaped tomatoes that were incredibly sweet and delicious as well...I'd love to know what that one was.
