Rainy weekend ahead. Time to plant seeds?

This is a timing question. Plant seeds outside now or wait?

We moved here last June, and one of the discoveries was packets of seeds in a tupperware box in a cabinet. Both flowers and vegetables. No idea how old these seeds are, but I also purchased some fresh seeds too.

I gathered many raisins from our old wine grape vineyard, and plan to sow those seeds along the chain link so the vines can grow. They will be a blend of Cabernet, Tempranillo and other red wine grapes. I'd like to plant other vining veggies on that chain link too.

With rain predicted, should I soak some seeds, and sow them tomorrow or before the rain hits?

A box full of seed packets would be a cool thing to find :) have fun!
That being said the rain on the way is forecast to be "significant" an inch to two inches depending on where you are. IMO it would be better to wait until the rain has passed & sow those seeds on the first sunny warm day afterwards when the ground is damp & warm.

There are some interesting seeds in that box! Some are for zones 2-8, and this is 9b, so probably too hot for those, but I might give them a whirl. Iceland poppies. The rest will do fine here.

Maybe I'll try starting some ahead in peat pots so they'll be ready to plant when it gets warmer.
