Well, since nobody else has answered this yet...
I have used sisal before, what I did was cut 6 foot lengths, enough for every half foot of row length. While watching TV I then tied one end every 6 inches along a length of twine a little longer than my pea row. I then tied the length between two poles, at 5 1/2 feet height, letting all the strings dangle down over the peas, like a twine curtain. You can either tie each dangle onto a pea plant, or just train them every day to go up their assigned twine piece.

Hi Carla: I did what you suggested and tied the twine off to another string I ran down low to the ground.
Then I said the heck with that and on the second row I ran a string down and back on the top and bottom and went to the neighbors brush pile and picked out some 5 to 6 foot lengths of twiggie prunings.I took these and placed them between the strings and that was alot easier!Much less time!I have had that big roll of twine sitting around collecting dust but the prunings are my standby.
