| Am looking for the best strain of corn to plant in Alameda County. And if anyone knows what also might be good in the Reno/Sparks area of NV. Am putting toether some Three Sisters planting packets for grandsons. |

| I have found corn is very easy--only about 10 weeks from seed to ear-in-pot-of-boiling-water--but resource intensive. Corn wants heat, lots of water, and lots of fertilizer because it grows so fast. If you are doing it right it can be 10 feet tall in two months, so you can see why it needs so much water and fertilizer. Alameda if it's a cool area get an "early" variety that doesn't need as much heat. Other than that, no suggestions, every type I've tried has been good once I learned how to lavish the water and fertilizer. |
