John Dourley Manzanita

I have a 5 gallon John Dourley Manzanita plant and want to use it as a foundation planting in a certain part of my garden that gets full sun. I saw a mature version of this in a garden and it was so beautiful. But I have heard that manzanitas are slow growers and was wondering if anyone can tell me how long I can expect it to take for this plant reach full size. I have also seen on various websites saying that the width can grow up to 4 ft wide and on other sites 8 ft. wide. The space I have to fill is 10 ft wide. I was thinking about planting two of them in that space. Is that too much, for that space, or could it work? Is anyone familiar with this type of manzanita?
