We really like the "Flavor Delight" Aprium, which actually blooms and bears fruit a whole month before the Tilton and Moorpark Apricots.

You say you are zone 10, so you probably want to look at low chill varieties. Here is a summary from Bay Laurel, (although they are sold out of most of theirs, if you want to buy this year you can go to local nurseries to see what their stocks look like after you find a few you like on Bay Laurel.)
I would recommend a multi-graft of each, one for peach/nectarine and one for apricots, since it would give you a much longer harvest period and variety choice than a single variety tree. Few homeowners can eat 100, 200 or more peaches within a week or two, which is the harvest of a full-grown tree. If you have a 5-in-1 tree, you're looking at 20-30 every 2 weeks over a couple of months.

On the peninsula as you go up north, you get more chill hours. I am around the middle of the peninsula and I get ~500 chill hours which is what a nurseryman told me once.

That said, you can go to any nursery and check out the chill hour requirement of bareroot or potted trees. Ask the local nursery folks -- they are familiar with the varieties and what they produce.

I think your challenge will be getting sufficient heat for the produced fruit to ripen with good amount of sugar, rather than getting enough chill. Therefore you need a variety that needs less amount of heat. Also, before buying I would make sure that there is a spot where a heat loving tree like peach tree can succeed.
